Movie Review: Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakuel
The sequel, or should I say "Squeakuel" to the first movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 is a heart-warming, funny movie for the whole family, directed by Tom Hill! It contains the same characters as the prequel, a few more, and one less. The character that isn't in the second one is Dave's ex-girlfriend, Clair Wilson. No-one knows why. And the new characters, Toby; Dave's younger cousin that spends his life playing video games, and the mains The Chipettes! There's Brittany; The main Chipette of the trio, (Opposite of Alvin), Jennette; The smart, shy, tall one of the trio (opposite of Simon) and Eleanor; The shortest, plumpest one of the trio (opposite of Theodore).
After landing Dave in hospital, the chipmunks are sentenced to live a normal life at school. But the chipmunks don't like it as there are bullies, suspension threats etc. But the female trio, the Chipettes, start working with Ian, and also get transferred to school! The Chipettes get told by Ian not to hang out with the 'munks. They also have a competition to go into the $25,000 competition. Theres fights, comps, saves, kidnaps and all kinds of high-pitched fun!
The film is animation over real action like the prequel! But the animation is superb! Every detail is so realistic! The shine on the car when they stand on it, the good quality when they're in the mirror, the shadows, everything! If you take a look at all the shadows and reflections, you'll be spell bound how good it is! Cuz I know I was!
The Chipettes are also an amazing spike to the movie! My favourite is Brittany! She's so hearty, and open-aired and very honest! But she changes her mind alot. I dont have a least favourite Chipette. Jennette and Eleanore are quite...oh whats the word? Back-up. They are a help to the movie too! They're ALWAYS there for Brittany, and she's there for her! But Ian doesn't like El and Jen. He just puts his star of attention to Brittany. I dont think its fair.
So I love this movie. All my mates love it too! The next sequel is coming 16/12/11 and will be called Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-wrecked. So I hope you also loved it!

It was such an outstanding movie of that time. I can still watch it on repeat. My kids still haven’t watched this movie, which mean I have to add it to the watch list. Every weekend we watch a movie together and on other days, we watch shows by Andrew Yeatman available on Netflix.
